with Confidence
Helping struggling readers become skilled, confident, and excited about books- one page at a time.
It's a story too many parents know all too well. You see your bright, energetic child, who is capable of so much, struggling with the basic building blocks of education: reading and writing. And your heart aches with every mispronounced word, every look of frustration, and every tear shed over a book.
The Reality You Face
"I just can't get it, Mom!"
Reading time turning into argument sessions.
Teachers reassuring you, but you know something isn't right.
Your child, dodging reading at every turn, even pretending to sleep to avoid the pain.
Imagine If:
Your child eagerly picked up a book, not out of obligation, but out of genuine interest.
The shame and embarrassment vanished, replaced by pride and self confidence.
You no longer felt helpless, but empowered to support your child's growth.
I was once that struggling reader. Summer school in sweltering New York, with no reprieve from the heat. But what I remember most was a single teacher's dedication- a beacon of hope that made a world of difference. That experience ignited a passion in me to ensure no child would have to feel that anguish and isolation.
I work with students that have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), an Early Intervention Plan (EIP), identified as being a candidate in Response to Interventions (RTI) via the Student Support Team (SST), English as a Second Language (ESL), and have a 504 plan or in general education classes reading below grade Lexile levels based on your school district and state assessments.
I offer a wide range of intervention strategies that are scientific and researched-based that are specific to your child's needs and learning styles. Yes, multisensory activities are infused in all of the sessions.
You've already taken the first, crucial step by seeking out help. Together, we can script a new chapter where your child reads with confidence, pride, and joy.
Let's turn their "I can't" into "I can" and watch them soar.

Confidence Beyond the Classroom
Reading isn't just about grades, it's about building a foundation for lifelong learning success.
My son had his assessment done by Demitra and she knows her stuff and how to reach her students. Attention to details is very important to me and she met and exceeded my expectations is far. Looking forward to the journey of loving to read as it unfolds for my little dude.

Excellent tutor!
Ms. Demitra is prepared, organized and uses multiple avenues to work with your child. I contacted her to assist with my son's reading. She laid out her plan and is using tools that are engaging. I am happy and my son is too! I would highly recommend her, hands down.

Ms. Demitra has been my son's tutor for 2 years! We love her! He has come such a long way!!
Sessions are either one-hour or 90- minutes. This depends if the session is just reading, writing or a combination of both.
Progress depends on how much effort is given during and after each session. I recommend follow-up activities that reinforces what was learned that week. Daily practice helps improve our memory and takes information from the working/short term memory into the long-term memory.
There are a variety of different sessions of which all involve reading and/or writing: private sessions, small groups, in-person, virtual, and hybrid (where a student can attend in-person some days and virtual other times).
